The Government of India launched the Aarogya Setu app as on April 02, 2020, for smartphones, that alert user if they come in corona infected areas or contact of COVID-19 positive patients around them. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi also urged the citizen to download it, it helps to keep citizens safe during this Coronavirus pandemic outbreak.
Aarogya Setu is an important step in our fight against COVID-19. By leveraging technology, it provides important information. As more and more people use it, it’s effectiveness will increase. I urge you all to download it.

Aarogya Setu app is developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.
Aarogya Setu is a COVID-19 mobile tracking application to spread awareness and collect information of coronavirus infected person and this app is available for both Android and iOS smartphones on Google Play Store and App Store.
This application work on Smartphone’s GPS location and Bluetooth technology, that track nearby COVID-19 infected person and sent alert to app installed users.
The purpose of the GPS location is to trace your location. Aarogya Setu application sends this data to the server and server matches your location to already stored database of infected areas across India. And Bluetooth detects if you are under the six feet range of infected person then you will receive an alert if you are at risk.
After download, you need to register with your mobile number. Then this app will ask about your health stats and other information like it ask some questions related to COVID-19 symptoms e.g. Cough, Fever, Diabetes, Hypertension, Lung Disease and Heart Disease. This information sent to the government database server which helps them to take initial steps in case of isolation procedure, if required.
For active functionality of tracking, you have to keep Location and Bluetooth services always ON. This app support 11 languages (10 Indian languages + 01English language).

On App screen you will find Your Status, Self Assess, COVID updates and e-pass features at the top.
After you install the Aarogya Setu app in your mobile with Location & Bluetooth services ON. Then it detect any nearby Smartphone that also has this app installed and if that mobile user is supposed to be COVID-19 positive, then you will get alert.
e-Pass Facility
E-pass contains all the basic information about your name, company, supply chain partner, it’s valid to date, location, and work purpose. It contains 6 digits alphanumeric ID and only valid in location as mentioned on it.
This e-pass is used in case of urgent or essential travel for any essential supply purpose from one place to another along with any the possession of any government-issued ID like Voter Card, Aadhar Card, Driving License and PAN Card.
